Aiden's New Friend Katydid
On the weekend a katydid appeared on a window at Aiden's house. Aiden's family looked at it through the window with a magnifying glass and saw its little face.
Aiden's mum shared this information:
This is a New Zealand Bush Cricket, or Kiki Pounamu, which is commonly called a 'katydid' because apparently the American ones sound like they are saying 'Katy did, Katy didn't'.
Aiden fed it some green apple and moved it to a safe spot in a bush so it would not be easy prey for a bird and checked on it all day.
